Ford Ranger saves Dodge Ram!!!!

Last week, here in wonderful Wisconsin, we had a night of freezing rain followed by a day of 31 degree weather with high winds, in other words, freeways and every street covered in black ice.

On my way to work in the morning, I noticed a Dodge Ram 1500 (or something like that) over the embankment (like a small drainage ditch) and he had perched his vehicle where the front and rear bumper were on the ground, and all four tires were off the ground.

I, being the kind soul that I am, pulled over, threw on the hazards, and grabbed my reflective vest and switched on my amber beacon (didn't really want anyone hitting me and killing me). I offered to help pull his truck out, and he looked at me and just started laughing. He said he would give me 200 bucks cash (and he showed me the money) if I could get him out of his situation....

That $200 sure feels great in my pocket tonight. Two tow straps, 4x4 on my end, not even 50% throttle, pulled him right onto his four wheels!

Ford decimates all

And this is why I own a ranger. I have a similar story but no heroic deed by a ford. Just a jackass in a dodge.

It was traffic hour and road work was going on. I was stuck in traffic with a filed to my right and another car to my left (It was a suburb road). Some jackass in a 1500 thought it would be totally awesome to cut past everyone and the road work by cutting through the field. He pull off the road and begins blaring his horn as he speeds up going through the field. This guy was a total jackass. Apparently he didn't notice the rather large drainage ditch that cut halfway through the field (Prolly cus he was to focused on flipping us all off). anyways he hit the ditch at like 30 mph. Maybe the funniest thing I have ever seen... He sent his *** end into the air and his airbags deployed. Destroyed the front end of his truck. Just made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. It looked a lot like this video:

chevy owners can be dicks. my story is my 2wd got stuck on the sand and my buddys ranger fx4 couldnt get it out due to his bald m/ts. ********** in a duramax comes over and says you want a real truck to pull ya out, he tried, sunk his heavy *** truck, we got mine out with the fx4 and then he got out. like yea, you just ate your words.

Honestly, before I even began reading this thread, I thought "Oh no, here's another one of the ****** that love their brand and ALWAYS hate on other brands."

But as soon as I read the part where he started laugh at you, I'm GLAD you were able to pull him out. Assistance is assistance. HE'S the *****.

That ranger driver was stupid. I mean come on you did not expect it to pull off the bumper. LMAO Pull the tension then pull not jerk.

Yea from what I have noticed, Chevy drivers seem to be bigger ****** than Ford or Dodge owners. Just my experience.

You know, it says right on most tow straps that you should tension up the rope, and then ease it out, that guy is lucky there isn't too much frame damage. I mean, pulling out a truck off a berm that weighs twice the Ranger, in reverse, at full throttle.

A friend of mine with a B4000 saved his buddies Ram 2500 when it sunk in the mud... big heavy trucks don't do well off road :)

I die laughing every time the guy floors it and flies backwards... WTF is he thinking :)

Hell, common sense tells you that you should do it that way. He was so hurt, too. You could hear it in his voice and tell it in his face haha.

That storm was a mess around here, now if we could get a decent measureable f'n snow storm this year, I would sure like to get on the sled.

"two tow straps..." Curious as to how you rigged this? Front tow hooks or rear hitch receiver? Where did you hook up on the dodge? Just interested for the one day I might have to help someone out. Thx.

I started reading that and thought you were talking about me. I was gonna be hey, I never had to pull you out yet. When I do, I will succeed. lol Watch now if it happens I won't be able to, or worse yet I will break my truck. :-( You are getting a 4x4 this time right?

P.S. If you have another friend with an fx4 why don't you bring him out?
