'04 edge 3.0 2wd

Bought this truck last week, and I've been smelling burnt coolant even since. I've been reading on here about all the place this engine is prone to leaking, so i've been going crazy trying to find it. All this time, it was the obvious. The radiator itself. I've looked all around the hoses and sides of the radiator but for some stupid reason I never looked at the back. Pushed the fan shroud back and here is what I found. A small leak and a bunch of caked-on white residue. I guess this part of the radiator gets hot enough to burn it off without letting any hit the ground?

 

Its more than likely its coming out when pressurized aka steam that would explain why you never saw any on the ground! At least you found your leak though!
