Front Wheels Locking Up when in Reverse

i have a 95 Ranger, 4x4 and 4.0 engine. In February I had the front brakes and calipers replaced by a mechanic. Rear brakes are shot but didn't have money to get them both fixed. Two days ago I was parking and when I went into reverse my front wheels locked up and couldn't reverse, I switched back into drive and they released, I did notice a slight grinding noise when I applied brakes. The next day I drove to work and parked and when I tried to back out of my parking space my truck wouldn't move because the wheels locked again. I tried to put it and nuetral and the front wheels were still locked up. I tried putting it into four wheel drive and still were locked up. Any suggestions on what might be wrong with it?

No e brake is not on. I'm going to have someone take a look at it but thought I'd see if anyone on here had any ideas.
