Check your spare tire, tranny and brakes.
Can't think of anything else right now.

no i wouldnt worry about the squeaky tensioner, shouldnt be an issue..
check tire pressure, check the drive train overall, like ball joints, wheel bearings......
check all oil levels.
check lug nuts.
take a general amount of tools with you.

PM or ask members along your route for contact information if they are willing to help out. could really save you.

I have made several trips in my truck, after several hours of driving the 4.0 does pretty well, i know i have been happy with it.

It might be a good idea to throw a blanket and some extra socks etc. in the truck just in case you did happen to break down and you had to wait in the cold for a little while. I think you will be fine, but definitley bring a blanket, it is cold up here lol!! Blades
p.s. gloves and warm hat too

I just know that because freezing to death isn't fun lol!! I have not experienced it but I dont want too. I will be checking all of this stuff as well when I move to Kansas in a few weeks, 1000 miles there, 18 hours, not sure how she will hold up lol so your concerns are met with warm blankets!! if that makes sense

My check engine light has been on since I bought the truck almost 2 years ago. It first would let me know there was misfires although we could never figure out the right thing to fix. The light is still on and we have a new engine in there, the damn thing just won't go out, the only light that scares the hell out of me is the check guage light. I have had too many run ins where I have lost all oil pressure, so because of that I am looking at my guages every 20 seconds or so.
