So I was gassing up today and I noticed the flapper for my gas filler neck is gone. Should I replace it or does it even make a diffrence?

I'm going to guess it the metal flap is in the gas tank.

 

take your pick, lower the gas tank-which is a *****, or take the bed off-which is also a *****.

 

OR just rock it w/o it.... it won't get sucked into the pump, it'll just chill in the bottom of the tank. Even if you pull the bed or drop the tank, you've gotta remove the pump and MAYBE you might be able to find it...MAYBE.

believe the '08 i worked on didn't have this metal flapper either...

my 07 doesnt have it. and i just noticed this yesterday too. im pretty sure it used to have one..? but oh well. i'll live.

Now this thread makes me want to go out and see if I have one in my 01. LOL

 

I know I have one in my '99, this thread also reminded me I need to put my new filler neck on tomorrow... Yay...
