the wider tire wont help you with mpg, it creates more rolling resistance

That would actually improve my gas mileage due to the weight:power ratio but no way I can afford it anytime soon :(

having a 29" tall tire thats 10.25" wide will get better mpgs than a 31"tire tahts 10.5" wide or a 32" tire thats 11.5" wide correct?? so thats why i may choose a 255/70/15 over a 31 or 32. i gotta get rid of these crapyears asap so ima make my truck look a lil better somehow

The less material contacting the ground the less friction it has to overcome and the less energy it takes to move it forward.

that is true because your cutting down on weight, but i dont see the point of doing that, you could jstu get 235/75/15 and get the 29inch height and much better millage then with the 255's

I am not changing anything in my life because of gas prices. I am not going to let it bother me! It can raise to $5 a gallon and I will still be at the pump!

Well it looks like I am out some money if you do that lol, keep me posted as I dont think you will see that bad of a drop in MPG myself. I am getting the same mpg and I have 33s now if that tells you anything.

Thats true, but you gotta remember you have a more powerful motor to help move the mass. While with a 3.0 you will lose a lot of mpg. I went from 235/70/16 to 245/75/16 and lost 1mpg and am having to baby the throttle so I dont end up with worse mileage. Now if you thew a 32in tire on it then it would drop even more. Given his power to weight ratio is better then me. It will stick affect it a good bit.

and all of youh ave to remember. yes you will be paying more money at the tank, but you might be spending more money on changing the truck to get better mileage than you would to just keep what you've got.

This weekend I got 16.75 MPG with my BL and 35's, I think thats not bad, I don't think I would want 16 MPG in a DD, but for a toy I am happy with it, I would go higher if I had the money.

We STILL have some of the cheapest gas around, hell, my Relatives from Germany are over and my Uncle said pays $110 Euro a WEEK for gas in his VW Passat 4 banger!

Yeah I really noticed at highway speeds my RPMs are way down with the 35's, I have been running around in 5th gear at like 2K rpm @ 65-75 MPH
