GVWR and Payload Questions

GVWR and Payload Questions
I am looking for some definite answers here.
My 03 FX4 4.0 4x4 has a GVWR of about 5100. My truck weighs 4500. So this tell me I can only add/haul an additional 600 pounds of weight. BUT, this truck has a payload of 1400 pounds or so.
So I cannot legally hall that mush because I will be over the Gross Vehicls Weight Rating. Correct?
