Hard start after cold.

Ok so it was 60 a week ago and now its in the 20's. My truck was sitting for about a week. I go to start it and it didn't want to start and was idleing like a bout and black smoke came out the exhaust. I turned it and and started it again and same thing. Once it warmed up it was fine. Is this normal anybody else been there.

Got to say - I dont' know about the black smoke! That is not a good thing. The hard start maybe due to the cold air and the fact that the truck sat for so long. I have noticed that if I let my truck sit for a while it is a little harder to start. however I have never had black smoke before.

Black smoke indicatees a rich condition. Can be normal in some cases depending on how much there is. Everything blows black smoke when you floor it.

Well the black smoke stopped after about a minute or 2, by the time it got warmed up I guess. The weather around here has been nuts 60 one day to 30 the next. It has not done it since.
