Have you noticed?
we've all seen lifted Rangers; 4x4's, 4x2's, edge's xlt's, splash's, etc... but has anyone ever seen a lifted ranger GT? i don't think there are any because people know when to leave a good thing alone.
if any of you have seen a lifted Ranger GT, let's hear what you thought about it. |

What about the current Ranger Sport, i've never seen any of them lifted either.
I think the GT would look funny, nothing like a lifted truck with ground effects! |

Goody, you can't even complain til you have to buy a suspension lift for the 4wd torsion trucks lol. Spindles? SHooooooot! Cheap! Lol Price the RCD or the SUperlift ;)
Just giving you a hard time.. |
hmm....let me do some math....
Ranger GT = ground effects + 2wd Ranger GT = ground effects + 2wd + lift + tires = gayer than a three dollar bill. That STX don't look half bad though. |

I'll get around to lifting my 'edge', but there aren't any "cheap" front end lifts for these torsion bar trucks. Buying new spindles is pretty pricey, i'll wait till i find some used ones :biggthump

Just giving you a hard time.. Given that...i'll get a body lift and spindles when I can afford to mess with it. After that, 'Cuda is back to getting all the attention/money :biggthump

Its like 400 bucks for the spindles, its not bad at all. Get a body lift if the cost bothers you.

Attachment 190121 The Ranger GT was available in 1987 and 1989. Mid-year 1986 saw the introduction of the Ranger GT. Only available as a standard cab short bed, it had the 2.9 L Cologne V6 with either a 5-speed Toyo Kogyo manual transmission or an optional A4LD automatic transmission putting power to a Traction-Lok differential with a 3.73 gear ratio. Front and rear sway bars were installed, and 14x6 aluminum wheels with 215/70-14 Goodyear Eagle performance tires completed the package. Inside, the truck was equipped with special bucket seats, full instrument cluster, an optional center console, tilt wheel, cruise control, power windows and locks, and a sliding rear window. A long bed option was added in 1987 and a new ground effects package was introduced in 1988 that included a front bumper cover with Marchal fog lights. 1989, sadly was the last year for the GT option. It had the exact same ground effects kit as the 1988 as well as the same options list. There were rumors that for 1990, Ford was going to install the 3.0L SHO V-6. They even went as far as to build one and let a couple of magazines play with it. It never came to be though. These vehicles were offered in Red, White or Blue. Contrary to what some believe, they were available in a long bed. http://www.therangerstation.com/reso...angerGT2_1.jpg http://www.therangerstation.com/reso...angerGT2_2.jpg |
Myke...Matt's answering the question to "has anyone seen a lifted ranger gt?"
Great post though by the way....i was making a post til i saw you pretty much did it for me. lol. |
There is a guy on RPS that has about 5 of them I think. I did not realize we had a non-believer of the GT's existence. But if the elephant comment was in reference to the lifted portion, then I would tend to thing people might not be that dump to lift a truck that is so rare and has ground effects.

I don't blame people for doing that around here, though. Lots and lots of deer. There is also an older Honda Accord painted camo with a deer killer bumper on the front. Although, all that thing will do is pop the deers legs right out from underneath it and throw it into the windshield. |
There's a guy on RPS, "Poop" is his screen name.. he has owned alot of Ranger GT's in his day I do believe.. havent seen him post much though, lately
