Headache rack is done.... PICS

I finished the headache rack today and got some pics for everyone to see. This is one of the items I'm looking to make for others. Please see the "I'm fabricating again..." thread for more information or go to http://www.tombarcia.net/Headache_Rack for all of the pics..

Is that attached to the front of the bed as well, or just the bedliner and side of the bed? Looks real nice.

There are 4 bolts total that hold it on. Two that go thru the front of the bed towards the cab and two that go thru the bedrail. I think the next one I make will use the stake pockets but since I really like my bedrail caps and don't mind drilling a couple holes, it was better to go this route.

I didn't take any pics from inside, but the two vertical bars line up perfectly with the edges of the slider so they don't interfere with use of the rearview mirror. I'm planning to order lights from ebay (eight 6" KC style 130watt fog lights for $110) with the black housing and eventually install a 2m antenna on the driver's side to finish it off. Looks like it's time for a new tennis ball too....

Do you still have that antenna?? I can't find anyone local who stocks the Firestik 2m antenna so it may be a little while until I get one. I'm stopping at the truck stop on my way home from work on Saturday to pick up the cable and lug.

2 meter antenna? Yes, but I gave away the one mount I had because you said you weren't going to use it. But the antenna is here and should be good for what you're doing and all.

I also have a CB antenna you can use in the meantime if you want. It's my "spare" for offroading. I'll give it to you Monday.

I've got a CB antenna and I'm going to pick up the cable and lug for the 2m this weekend so all I actually need is the radio and the 2m antenna itself since the mounts are welded to the rack. When I get around to it, I'll order the Firestik 2m antenna so that it matches my CB antenna and I'll be good to go. I really want to get those lights ordered soon so I can have them on and wired before next time I get the itch to go wheeling at nite.

Thank you everyone. I was hoping that it would look decent when it was done.

It took about 4-5 hours because I spent a lot of time working on gussets that I just couldn't get right so I didn't use them.
