Headlight Restoration Kits

Hey Folks, I have a 1989 Ford Ranger with nasty headlights. What brands of headlight cleaner kits do yall recommend? Thanks

I have used I think meguires 2 or 3 times on my truck, cleans it off but comes back within a month, so I gave up and bought new headlights.

I used the Meugiars one with great results. That was about 3 months ago and its getting to the point to where it needs to be done again. Theres more than enough stuff in the kit for multiple applications though.

If they're real bad, you might just want to get a new set.

Ditto. Restoring is sort of like a bandaid. Especially if you sand the stock coating off, it does't last very long at all until they haze up again.

I have used the 3M kit with much better results than the meguiars,as far as them hazing up again I have considered spraying clearcoat on the lenses but not sure if it will protect them or not

Here are my results with the Meguiars kit. The 3M probably works better for those that are really heavily oxidated.

This stuff worked awesome, I was extremely impressed. Very easy to use as well, only need a drill to apply it comes with everything else.
Her's weren't super duper bad so it worked fine.

I got the kit from walmart for 16 bucks. Its in a silver bag in the lighting/audio section. It worked great on my really nasty headlights on my contour. It was just temporary till I got new head lights though.

3M rubbing compound I found works the best. then apply 2-3 coats of your favorite wax, be sure to keep your headlights waxed every few months to prevent them from hazing up again.
