Headlight switch always on?

Headlight switch always on?
Is the headlight switch supposed to always stay on? it was burned out when i bought my truck so i have no idea, now that i have the LED it is always on. is it supposed to be like that?

Whenever the ignition is turned to the 'on' position, it's on all the time. Even when the headlamps or parking lamps are off, that switch lamp will be on.

Thanks to both of ya, my dad said it shouldnt be, so i was just checking
