That's most likely what it is.
When you raise it via the TB the ball joints are now operating in a different area in the ball/socket. Sounds to me like they are dry / rusted and need to be replaced.

Yeah sounds like a possibility. Check the boots around the ball joints, when bad they are usually cracked causing contaminants to get in drying them up. You can also push down on each front corner of the truck and if it squeaks/groans then there's your problem.
