Help please
I have a 1990 Ford Ranger with a 2.3l engine in it. It misses on one cylinder and to figure out which cylinder was dead I pulled the plug wires off of each cylinder and started it one at a time. When I got to cylinder number 4 and started it with the plug wires off it ran smooth. I put the plug wires for cylinder 4 back on, and it runs perfect. Every about 115 miles now it starts missing again and I repeat the process and it runs fine again for another roughly 115 miles. Any help or ideas would be appreciated
You have a 2.3 dual spark plug per cylinder engine.
Your diagnostic method leaves a lot to be desired.
Does the check engine light come on or flash?
How old are the spark plugs and wires?
What spark plugs and gap are you running.
Are you using dielectric grease in the spark plug boots?
Your diagnostic method leaves a lot to be desired.

post the codes you get and we can try to help
You can clean the contacts with any good contact cleaner and use any brand Dielectric grease but please take the time to do so.
The spark plug gap and type of plugs you used are important to this engine.
IF you cannot remember i suggest pulling them out and checking them post your finding when your done
