please tell me where my PCV is, Please (did search)

2000 v6 4L OHV

CEL in on and codes say both banks lean, ran injector cleaner and changed fuel filter, reset, CEL came back on, thinking i may have a vac leak possible PCV elbow or hose is cracked but i cant find the thing. did a search no real conclusive answers and the chilton guide says its in the valve cover next to the break booster.

still cant find the damn thing, anyone please tell where it is

thanks
uplander

its on the rear of the passenger valve cover

check the vacuum line that goes into the throttle body and routes by the upper radiator hose and the hose rubs through it

its in the driver side valve cover, it has a little hose three or four inchess long that goes into the upper intake (the big black thing that says 4.0 on it.

use a can of carb clean to spray anything with vacuum, especially the lower intake gaskets and around the IAC

also, check your fuel pressure, make sure the oil cap is on tight, check the intake tube for any leaks, check where the breather hose goes into the intake tube.

I don't think any 03's have one. I'm sure someone will clarify if I'm wrong....

EDIT: Well I'm wrong..lol I was thinking EGR valve.

4.0L SOHC is different from 4.0L OHV.

For your 2003 4.0L SOHC, look on the back of the driver side valve/cam cover near the firewall. The PCV valve has a coolant heater pipe wrapped around it. In addition to the coolant hoses, it also has a locking, screw in mount required by the EPA. Way more fun to change than a traditional PCV.

Does this hold true for an 04 SOHC?

2001~2011 Ranger 4.0 SOHC use a similar style PCV valve but some years are not shown with the coolant heater loop.
