Help! Shift Linkage issue

2004 Ranger Edge 4x4. 4.0L. I am looking for some help here. I replaced the Shift Tube assembly in my truck as my gear shifter had broken. Wasn’t too bad of a job. I have checked and double checked that everything is right and nice and tight. Everything checks outs!

the problem I am experiencing is that the truck doesn’t seem to want to shift fully into P(ark). I can select every gears. Transmission shift fine when in D, but when I go to put it into P it grabs, but not enough to lock it fully. It drifts forward or backward in and incline and I can hear the transmission clicking like it right there, but not enough to hold.

I know there is a bolt on the back of the steering column that is now tkmxoke loose and cause this. I have confirmed that it is tight. I have also adjusted the selector wheel to get the needle right where it needs to be when in all gears. I have also confirmed that my revers lights are coming in in reverse. The thing simple will not fully locking P!

Do I have a Pawl issue within the transmission or can the linkage be adjusted in some way? Maybe it go stretched or shrunk as the shaft tube was failing.

any guidance is appreciated!
