cant get the spare tire lock out with the key please help

take your tailgait off and use a cats paw and a hammer i got a flat and i never had the key i tried picking it but i was on my way to a job. i was pretty pissed so i just grabbed my tools and got her done there was only a couple scratches from it but not bad plus the tail gate hides it...
