Hidden antenna

I just had my second billet antenna get snapped off in a carwash. Rather than buy another one, I'm thinking about going with one of these hidden antennas. Does anyone have one, and how is your radio reception?

Then your going to have an ugly plastic "dome" left over??? I like the idea though.

You could replace the stock antenna dome with a sirius antenna dome. They appear to be the same except for the hole.

I have been thinking of working out a power antenna setup. Just have not gotten as far as actually doing it.

i had one of those in my 93. it worked pretty well, but i dont think it was amplified like the one in that link. it worked pretty well, but not as good as a standard antenna. an amplified one might be worth it.

JUST AN FYI,

I wouldnt put that outside the vehicle. when i did mine, i just left the antenna base for the factory antenna there...and mounted this on the top/right of the windshield, inside the vehicle. hope this helps your decision.

you said you didn't wanna buy another one. i say buy one but also buy the wrench that fits it and keep it on your keychain. then take off the antenna when you get to the car wash.

Yeah I ended up just buying another billet, and will make sure to go to TOUCHLESS carwashes only from now on.

It's all about the "touchless" carwash dude!!

You can always get the 13" rubber one. I tried the metal shorty antennas but I really like the quality of this one and it's durable. It can bend right back without damage.
