HIDs Crapped out Time to upgrade got???s
Well i currently have/had single beam 5000k HIDs and my passenger side ballest crapped out on me today, so i had to put my old silverstars back in and i though i had no lights on. My 3000k fogs a currently brighter than these crap incandescents.
So i was looking around on ebay just now to try to find myself a hi/low kit.
Ive seen those 9007-2 kits that have 4 ballasts and 2 bulbs on each side for hi/lows.
However i found a set of telescoping HIDs by bosch for 80$ And i was wondering if anyone on here has a kit like that and post some pics like up against a wall or something with lowbeam and high beam. Or videos would be great too.
Thanks!!!!

Did you have Xentec ones that crapped out? If so how long did you have them on for? My Xentec ones crapped out after using them for 2 months. I'm going to try DDM tuning ones. I think the small flat ballasts work a lot better easier to mount them and get them away from the elements.

Yeah they were the xentec ones the kit is a little more than a year old... I think the salt water got in it cause it was corroded really bad on the attached cord to ballast...
And Tyler where and how much were the 9007-2 kit you have come from??

I got mine from 0RangerEdge2 for $130 I think?
X2. I have had a set on my quad for over a year now with no issues. They offer free lifetime as well. My buddy has their hi/lo kit on his F150 with no problems.
Well here is the thing. The 4 ballast one is good until you start flashing people. You aren't giving the high beam ballasts enough time to be warm up. HIDs don't really like being turned on and off quickly. I believe all cars that use OEM HID systems use a regular bulb for the high beam when they use a separate beam setup. If they use projectors they have something that blocks the light when using low beams but it moves to let all the light out when you turn on the high beams. Eventually you could damage the ballast but I have no experience with that kit.
This guy sold them for that reason: https://www.ranger-forums.com/forum2...0-hid-kit.html

go with the 35 watt hi/lo DDM kit. I just bought 6000K and I LOVE THEM, light weight, very small ballasts and comes with a relay.. Plug and play. Very nice kit for the price too. very affordable.
I'm using the dual tube setup, and I like it. Haven't had any issues in the year I've had it, and I have no reason to be flashing my headlights at people all the time. That would just be rude. I'll admit I don't like the warm-up time when I hit my highs on back country roads, but thats so seldom, I'm not even worried about it. The light output of the HID high beams is worth the 1.5 second warm up time.
I got mine on ebay. Here's a link to one auction. Just be sure the kits have 4 ballasts, since some people on sleeze-bay lie about it.
