Hit by a rock

A damn mercedez kicked up a pebble on the freeway today and it made a decently small crack on my windshield. I was told there is a kit at pepboys that fills the crack with some sort of sealant to prevent it from cracking more. Would this be my best bet or should I look into getting a new windshield from my insurance?

I would first find out your insurance policy and how much would cost you. I get a new windshield just about every year. I have zero deductable and I only need a 6 inch crack which I always get from driving so much.

Definitely check with your insurance first. Might not cost you a thing.

Another option is there are a bunch of window places that will fix the knick for free. Call a few windshield places and see what they say.

All i gotta say is get it fixed for sure. My dad got one years ago on his work vehicle and while driving home at 60mph we could actually see the crack spread from the middle of the glass to both the top and bottom of shield. Wasnt cool at the time, but now kinda funny. But check insurance route before going out of pocket.

If you got it "fixed" I hope its less noticable then before. I'm intrigued, You need to point this out to me next time I see your truck.
