Should I trade?

Should I trade?
Hey everyone, got a question. My ranger has had nothing but problems for me. Broken rack and pinion, stuck lifter replaced, now something is wrong with the engine where it whines really bad when I get past 30 and it knocks really bad at idle. I guess I'm really tired of dealing with this vehicle, because I've taken it to ford dealerships, and they never can seem to fix the problems that go wrong with this truck.
I really like the ranger and it's capabilities, so I've been thinking about getting a different one. I found one http://inlandempire.craigslist.org/cto/807058048.html that I like. It's an 89 Ranger, 4x4, with a 4 banger and a 5 speed manual. It apparently only has like 73,000 miles on it. Basically I'm wondering if it would be a smart idea to sell my truck now before it gets even more problems and buy an older truck? Or if I should hang onto mine and try to fix all the stuff wrong with it? I'm really asking you guys, because you know the most about rangers.
Any advice would help, and I'm sorry if this is kind of a weird question

Well yeah that's true, but it was my first vehicle, I didn't know anything about cars, and no one ever taught me, so I can't do a whole lot about that now unfortunately :(
Anyone else have any insight? Or is there any way that I can fix these problems I've described and still keep my ranger in good working order for a long while? I really like the truck a lot, it's just that the engine whine and knock really are irritating. Oh, and the suspension makes a lot of squeaks, but has been lubricated often and I'm pretty sure has been maintained.
I'm sorry, I don't know a lot about trucks. I am trying to learn though, because I enjoy it a lot. I was just always told not to do anything to my vehicle, and now that I'm out on my own I can do whatever I want with it.
