There should be a tag on the rear differential..should say 373/410 and it might also have a l/s meaning limited slip...something like that.

Open up your drivers side door and in the door jam is a label with everything about your truck. Look at the code under axle and search for what the code means on google.

You could also do what was said above and look at the rear diff cover. There is a tag which will give you the gear such as 4L10 (4.10's with l/s)

remove your rear axle. take of the diff guard, remove the 4 bolts that hold in your carrier, then take off the 8 bolts that hold your ring gear on. then take your pinion and ring gear and count the teeth on each, then use the handy calculator or divide the number of teeth on the ring gear by the number or teeth on the pinion gear and then you'll know what years you have!! simple as that!!

So according to that chart, I've got:

Code: R7
Description: L/S 8.8"
Capacity: 2750
Ratio: 4.10

Is the 4.10 ratio the most "prized"? Can can someone explain gearing ratios? Thankz
