How do you junk a vehical thats impossible to move?

in my other thread about the strength of the waag bar, this just occurred to me LOL I want to scrap/junk our red cube van, preferrably this summer since its beginning to become an eye sore and I dont need no crap from the town... It weighs 10,000-/+ lbs its been sitting for 6yrs. we moved it 3x in those 6 years, and it hasnt ran in 2yrs. How do you junk a vehical like that? its big, its about 9ft 10inches wide at the mirrors, and oh i dunno, 18-20ft long and about 9ft tall... its a 1977 ford e350 cube van...

Yes, I was going to suggest taking out the gas tank, battery and airbags if there's anything like that and go after it with a torch.

Fun and profitable!

If it is at all like the modern cube vans (like i have at my work) i doubt u would even need a plasma cutter to cut through the box.. just a cutting wheel would get the job done..

take the cube off and use it as storage, sell of the engine, trans, axle. scrap the rest. or you coul stuff the engine and tranny into a beater ranger or something and have some fun.

Easy you can make it disappear one sawzall blade at a time. Thats what we done to a Honda ended up fitting in the back of a Dodge's bed.

this cube van is nothing like the new ones. The newer versions have a fiberglass body. We have a 1995 E350 that weighs in at 7100lbs empty. Yet the 1977 weighs OVER 10,000lbs empty. its all steel. I want to take the shelving out of it, and maybe use it in the 95. Im also taking the front bumper (its REAL chrome) the rear bumper, the custom made hitch, both mirrors, and the little air compressor for the air horns. It doesnt even have a catalytic converter. Hell itll run on LEADED gasoline its so old LOL

Right now, its just rusting away, Art wanted to restore it since dad put so much work into it, however I dont have the time, them oney, or the interest to restore it all myself, which is what would end up happening. I cant use it as a storage shed anymore because its becoming a major eye sore for my neighbors, and, I have some MAJOR clean up around my yard to do, and if the town gets wind of that truck sitting there, theyll gimme 30 days to clean up the property and then theyll start fining me. So its best to just dump it. Tho, that idea of tearing it down myself seems interesting

say someone like me? haha
im about to buy a 76 E250

im gonna have the issue of needing it hauled off with no axles under it
i'll be starting by cutting the entire cube off and tearing everything i dont need off of it then hauling that crap off

i say if its 4x4 you may be able to get a few bucks for it.
if not just call a j/y and have them hual it off

edit, just read D's post. its only got a 9" the 250s for a D60 under it haha

man that is a dinosaur. i'd take off all electrical also. you never know wen your gonna need wires/lenses/lights for a project. that bumper alone should be worth something.
how would you restore a cube van? and afterwards, what would you use it for?

Given the work vs time vs potetial money earned. I'd just take a few pics, get it "started", and then advertise it for $350.

Too bad we aren't closer, I would hook up the trailer and come get it out of there for you. I got a trailer that will haul it and I could accually use the hell out of that thing doing coutertops for my dad and mines buisness. We are currently having to cut the tops in half and haul them in the Ranger and a 86 chevy 1500 long bed. We could really use something like that. It would make our job alot easier.

heres the current list of stuff thats bad on that truck that I know of:

Needs a new tranny. It slips out of gear while driving and sometimes wont go back into gear

It has a 460. with 110,000 hard miles on it.

It leaks oil. Infact 1 month before we took the truck off the road, we fixed the leak it had been leaking from for the passed 10years. However now the main rear seal is leaking.

the floor in the cab is almost completely gone.

exhaust system is totally shot.

has major rust around the drivers door, and along the bottom of the body. so far, the box hasnt begun to leak, but give it a lil time, itll leak...
