How many 5 year olds.......

Stolen from here

Good drunken debate from a few nights ago.

The question: How many 5 year-olds could you take on at once?

The specifics:

- You are in an enclosed area, roughly the size of a basketball court. There are no foreign objects.
- You are not allowed to touch a wall.
- When you are knocked unconscious, you lose. When they are all knocked unconscious, they lose. Once a kid is knocked unconscious, that kid is "out."
- I (or someone else intent on seeing to it you fail) get to choose the kids from a pool that is twice the size of your magic number. The pool will be 50/50 in terms of gender and will have no discernable abnormalities in terms of demographics, other than they are all healthy Americans.
- The kids receive one day of training from hand-to-hand combat experts who will train them specifically to team up to take down one adult. You will receive one hour of "counter-tactics" training.
- There is no protective padding for any combatant other than the standard-issue cup.
* The kids are motivated enough to not get scared, regardless of the bloodshed. Even the very last one will give it his/her best to take you down.

I set my magic number at 30, but upon reflection, I think I could take on a few more. How many could you take on?

I honestly think I could take on 20. Maybe 25, but I would have to knock them out fast because I wouldnt last any longer than 5 minutes at full throttle - Throwing, Kicking, Punching, etc...

OK, give me a cup, and like 50 kids.

Im dead serious, my Golden Glove instincts would come back. I seriously think i could prob kill a 5 yr old with one punch.

I've had my punches measured by pounds of pressure at the blow. I dont think a 5 yr old could handle it.

This would be funny..

Then again, i love kids. I dont think i could.

i really think... if it was one after the other, i could take them on all day...

if it was like... 15 really mean 5yr old guys, i am pretty sure i could grab one and swing him into the others constantly..

if they were like pretty calm not too psycho, like 20 of them...

if they were on drugs or rabid, like 10 of em..

if they were little girls, like... 40...

i could beat the crap out of some little kids.. haah

hypothetically..

but i like little kids too much...

but i set my magic number at 30... 30 is alot of people at once...

5 year olds? Those are like pre-k and kindegarden, I could take them on all day. Now the second graders, around age 7-9... they could be trouble in numbers. I get to work with kids every day at my after school program so I can get a good measurement of how many I could take.

5 year olds, a whole lot, they have no weight and no height, they have nothing againts a teenager/adult. Now around 7 they start getting some mass and a little taller, and in numbers I think they could be trouble...

hrmm....I don't think training the kids would do much good because they wouldn't have the attention span to pay attention. So really you are fighting a bunch of 5 year olds right off the street. There is no way you are gonna make a 5 year old fearless of bloodshed unless he comes from some war torn country or a very violent neighborhood. So I say I could take on 30 or 35 of the little pansies. It's so easy to throw little kids...I'm not speaking from experience or anything....but they're like 40 lbs....those little turds are gonna fly. Bring it on you little savages.

Not entirely true. That 'Little Hercules' kid was doing stuff like that at 5/6 years old. Now I know that was how he was raised, but it does mean some kids would pay attention. Plus, you have to remember that the person who is out to get you gets to take your magic number and double it and choose from a pool of kids. If any of the kids were like what my cousins used to be like, they would be pretty mean.

As big and strong as I am, I really dont think I could take on more than 20. I threw out 25 just in case, but if it was real, I would probably tell the person choosing I could only take on 15. I would tire out before all 15 were dropped, probably.

this is a very interesting question. im 19 and a bigger guy and would prolly run out of steam before i ran out of fight so i am gonna be safe and say 20. i have some massive legs and im thinkin a few good shots to the midsection would drop em

Lots to consider but really it should only take one hit to shock one out of commission and since I don't like kids my sheer joy at the chance would give me enough energy to knock out at least 40.

lol, this is a very odd question.. i'm not sure what i'd say my number would be.. the only thing i really have for me is endurance.. i could simply run around all day and have them get tired out first.. then kill them, or knock them unconscience, or whatever, lol.. but yeah, even if it were all regulated and legal and all, i'd still feel too awkward to throw a swing at a little kid. i'd hit the first kid, watch him start to cry, then feel really bad and ask if he was ok, lol.

If this ever does become the sport it should (don't agree? Check out Wal-mart at a busy, back-to-school time) I'll finish off any that you can't :)

You will either need to be sitting in a chair or on your butt to bee at a good punching height.

I dont think that most of you could handle your claims... 20 kids is a stretch...

Last summer I was a camp counselor, little kids can go midievel on you... For some parts of the day we would all stay in the gym, and it was the size of a basketball court, the kids took me to the ground many times... All they have to do is go for the backs of your knees and its over... Think if there are 20 of them, lets say that they all weigh a conservative 40 lbs each. If they manage to get you down, that is 800 lbs of pinching, biting, kicking, screaming, slaping, and punching rage on top of you. You're toast.

On a side note... I was given a bloody nose by a 5 year old girl at the camp I worked at. I was sitting down, and she just walked up to me innocently, smiling, and smacked me square in the nose.

I don't think that I could really see myself doing it.. although I'd probably be bodyslamming and piledriving them, I was never much good for throwing a punch.

I say 15 for me... When I was 17, I tought Martial Arts at the local school. I used to handle the "after school" program. When those 5/6 year olds get a few months training in them... Damn!!!!! I took on the class once, kind of as a moral booster for the kids (obviously I didnt go all out on them) and the 22 that were in the class at the time wore my A$$ out hard core. 2 mins of running around just defending and I was ready to call it a day. Then it was my turn... Do y'all have any Idea it is to keep up with ONE 5 yo? Try 22 that know how to kick/punch/block and defend themselves. Good lord that was crazy!!!

So I say 15 just because I would be worn out by the time I was ready to knock out #10.

Funny post... Gonna start this debate at my next AA (Army Alchies) meeting!

Frank
