How much did yall pay for exhaust stuff?

I've gotta get my exhaust redone (exhaust leak) in the next 2 weeks in order to pass inspection. I found a Borla Pro XS muffler, 2.25" center in, 2.25" offset out, for $69 + $12 shipping on ebay. I've also found 3.5x22" stainless tips for $50 +$15 shipping on ebay. My local shops want somewhere between $190 and $195 to get it all installed. That brings the final total to about $350! Is that about what y'all paid? To buy it through the shops would be either $355 for chrome tips or $370 for chrome tips. Anyone know of a good muffler shop in the DFW area I can get the install done at for less than $190?

Yeah do keep in mind a borla muffler is more expensive than a flowmaster, mangaflow, or gibson. $190ish sounds about right for labor then?

Where's the leak? you might (if you like your setup now) be able to use some jb weld to close the hole.

Haha no don't have a set-up now. It's just stock. I've wanted an exhaust system, and I may be able to convince my mom to pay the cost of getting the leak repaired towards my new exhaust system instead, and I just pay the difference. Anyone have any idea what getting an exhaust leak fixed might cost?

$150 for dynomax catback :) Bolt on, installed myself.
I did look for prices for custom exhaust and the few i had gotten were around $300 i think...but cost of living is more expensive in the NE. Proces will definately vary by location and the type of shop you go to.

I would like to go with a lightning style or similar but instead of under the body, cut through the bed body just under the EDGE and have it exit there...Tom Barcya has his that way las t I saw.

mine cost $323 through a custom car place... but i went there cuz i had a gift certificate, you could probably get flowmaster dual exit with 3in tips for around $300. that place just sent me to a local exhaust place.

If I wasn't under a time constraint that would be a great deal. I've gotta have it done in the next week and a half in order to not be out the first $40 from my inspection. Thanks for the offer! If I have the opportunity I may still take you up on that offer. We will see when the parts get here.

It's been a little while but here is what I think I payed...

Muffler-60
Tips-~20ish
Install and 5 year warranty on anything he put on (excluding muffler) about 250.

So about 330 total. I can't seem to find the receipt. I might have it in my truck.

I know that seems high but I'll pay the extra cash to get it done right. Two other small shops would do it for cheaper but both don't have a very high reputation. I also did not get mine fully mandrel bent. The guy that wrote it up put it on there and the guy that did it said he didn't... sorta confusing but he explained why he didn't and blah blah.

But enough rambling... 350 sounds high from what it looks like to me. If i didn't go warranty way it would be about 275 for all mine I think.

Thanks Zach for the link....Sorry i havent been on here in so long ive been working ALOT lately!!!

Kyle, that Price sounds about right.....BUT what kind of pipes are you looking at? i have Stainless Steel becuase it going to last forever...if that price is for aluminized i would check around some more.....

You will defenitly want to get the Pro-Xs Center/Offset muffler and have the shop put a Y after the muffler......Reason is - The Center/Offset is the SHORTEST muffler borla makes in the pro-xs series.....Anything bigger than that will be a little quiet for your tastes. IM pretty sure my muffler is about 13-15" in length.

Anyway good luck, and tell your mom an exhaust leak is 425.00 + Tax to get fixed......haha

$95 installed for a flowmaster. Oh wait i dumped it cuz i wasnt gonna pay the extra $200 just to have tips out the back. and IMO dumped sounds better but thats just my opinion.
