i bet nobody noticed this...

i bet nobody has noticed this on my truck...(on my just washed truck thread)...

heck i walked around my truck 4 or five time before i ever bought it inspecting it and never noticed it...then a week later i was at home washing it and i noticed i could fit my fingers under that part of the grille to wash, and i seen why...

i even asked the sales lady what was on the carfax report, it said nothing about a bumpup...or at least she didnt tell me...

but i know its been in some bumpup bc its not the plastic that is bowed up like that, its the bumper underneath. im just going to have my body man heat it up and fix it for me...

still it aggrevates me...

hey does anyone have a carfax subscription that they would look my truck up on?

id rather buy a gently used one...it was 25000 brand new (it still has original winsdow sticker in manual), i got it with 27000 miles on it and got it for 10500 dollars cheaper than a brand new one...sooo

but yeah iit aggrevates me that its there, but its either buy a new bumber (the one underneath plastic) or just heat it up and beat it back ito place...im taking option 2...

If you buy a new bumper I will pay shipping for your old one. I need a new one.

yep...we'll see when it comes down to fixing it, the plastic cover is fine, its just the metal bumber thats messed up....

i hop when i fix it that the plastic doesnt retain that bump...it shouldnt though bc the bump is right there where the plastic fastens to the bumper...

On my brand 08, the plastic cover over the bumper kinda bulged up like that. Typical Ford... didnt manufacture this stuff to very tight specifications

Are you sure its the actual bumper thats bent? i would take it off and check. its only 4 bolts holding it tothe frame

It's hardly noticeable I definitely don't think it warrants buying a whole new bumper and everything. Just leave it. If you just noticed it now it's not going to bother you.

take it back to the dealer you got it from and see if they can do anything for you. i know the dealership i used to work at would always bend over for customers.

Mine did that when we took the bumper off and put it back on.... mine's 'cause of not perfectly flat bumper brackets but the bumper itself has no issues...

Mine came factory w/ a big gap... the gap is smaller now due to the adjustments made during the body lift... but until I put new brackets on it still doesn't sit right

I wouldn't worry about it. I have had a big dent in my front bumper since the winter of '07. I really wanted to get a new one but it eventually stopped bothering me so I just forgot about it.

Yea...06+ are all bumper covers. You can't just replace the upper bumper like you can on 05 and older trucks...The covers are push pinned into the metal frame that is actually the bumper. All you are looking at, is a bumper cover. After first noticing this on Marie's truck during the bodylift, I've noticed it on alot of 06+ trucks. Ford is taking a car attribute(bumper covers) and applying it to trucks...

I call it 'waves' or 'ripples'. I wonder if you took that cover off, or just lifted it off the metal bumper, then sprayed in some adhesive, then pushed down, if that would cure this wave?

virtually same area the OP circled...

Honestly I think everything looks fine. I wouldnt have even noticed until you pointed it out. Even after pointing it out I still think it looks decent.

no because the "wave" is caused by the bumper cover being slightly too big. I dont think it would hold, at least it wouldnt hold for very long. Its just something 06+ owners have to deal with if they run their lame *** stock bumper lol

(im not a fan of stock ranger bumpers... except the old chrome Edge, those were decent.)

i think the way your bumper is in your avatar, isnt very good. It looks ok, but judging by the picture, its soo close to the fenders, its probably rubbing. The reason there was a gap between the bumper and the body is so they wont rub on each other.

Yea bro, that sucks about the bumper. My truck is the same way. The carfax said nothing, yet my passenger fender is a lighter shade of DWB than the rest of the truck.
