Whoever had the truck before me i guess didnt like the red support post behind the chrome grille, so they put a piece of black duct tape on it to "cover" it up. Well it looked tacky as hell because it was shriveling...so i did this...

i just took the tape off, taped and newspapered everything else off, rough sanded it to get the "glue" off and to make paint stick better, and painted it matte black...looks better than that dang tape; I think that i may want to do do the rest red behind the grille, what do yall think?

also notice the diffeent in the quality of the shots due to the iso...

the before has a lot of "noise" ISO at 400

the second one is nice and clean...ISO at 100

 

paint the rest of that red showing and it will look good

 

id like to somehow put more honeycomb behind the rest of the grille...

 

get a 01-03 honeycomb style grille and cut it up inserting it behind the openings

Unless...that is what you did. lol. I can't see the tape. It's just a pet peeve of mine...Ford used to put in a piece of black plastic behind the grille on light colored trucks(silver, red, yellow, white, etc) and then put nothing behind dark colored trucks....06+ owners got screwed....'08's got super screwed with that plus a factory lowered 4x4.

 

i did the vertical bar, i have yet to do the whole thing....

 

Ha, I was about to say, I THOUGHT that Marie's truck has had that done..

 

looks good, I would have to fix that bumper would bother the heck out of me.

 

just a useless fact for ya. that black tape comes from the factory.

i did this a couple weeks ago when i put my behind the grill lights on.

Just so you know, that tape came from the factory. At least my truck has it...

 

Marie's didn't. Of course, I dont think her header panel is factory either.

 

Paint the whole thing, looks much cleaner.
