I got a Question.
I picked this up on Saturday and I want to grind the Rust down and repaint it before I put it on, but I have a couple questions before I start doing that. (1) should I grind down only the rust or should I grind the whole thing? (2) What kind of black paint do I use to hold up to the different seasons of Ohio.
Here are some pics:
Thanks,
Clay

I will look up the name at work tomorrow, but there is a guy here in Medina that powdercoats really cheap and does amazing work. The company is called Bradley Adams, but I can' t find his business card at the moment. He did a couple customers wheels and they turned out great and I think it was like 75 a wheel.

Just an FYI from someone who has done professional sandblasting, once you put a bed liner type coating on it, sandblasting it in the future is completely out of the question.
I am up in Buffalo NY and have a small sandblasting set up, if you wish to have me do it, ill blast the hitch for $20.
As far as primers, go with a rust inhibiting primer, it is absolutely imparitive you get it primed with in 30 minutes of blasting it.
I will also get that sucker CLEAN. as in BARE metal. no rust.

I grinded down all the rust today, I bought some rust preventer, rustoleum primer, and black paint that will also try to prevent rust. Dave I would take you up on that offer but it would probably cost 40 bucks just to get the hitch up there and back. Plus I want to try and get this thing on the truck by the weekend. I'll post some pics up when I'm done. Thanks again guys.
