Icon5 2010 Ranger wheels

Ford decided to stay on the cheap side and instead of using a new wheel design, they are using these MAZDA B2300 B3000 B4000 95-97 ALLOY WHEEL RIM 15 X 7 49:eBay Motors (item 280336353071 end time Oct-17-09 14:19:54 PDT) for the new Ranger (XLT) which were used on the mid to late 90's B-Series. I used to have them myself, actually a nice wheel....but, REALLY? How about Alcoa's, or the 5 spoke FX4 wheels. Or something besides a 10-15 yr old wheel design. The only difference with the new wheels is the insets on the design seem to be a dark graphite compared to a polished look on the rest of the wheel. Go to Ford.com and build an XLT Ranger and you'll see what I mean. Mazda wheels + Ford centercaps = weird.

Also available are the 5 spoke 16" FORD RANGER 5 SPOKE NEW WHEELS ORIGINAL RIMS:eBay Motors (item 200387159115 end time Oct-23-09 0641 PDT) models that have been in production for a few years.

Just looking to see your comments on the choice of wheels available from Ford.

The ranger peaked in 2003 and has gone down hill since. The biggest disappointement being the end of the L2 in 2007.

the second wheels you posted are the fx4 package ones. there is a guy with an 08 or 09 xlt and the fx4 rims but i don't remember his name. those mazda one are plain looking and i'm not a fan of them. i'd option for the other ones if i was buying new.

If I were to buy the new Ranger I'd order it with the stock painted wheels, and then upgrade to the 16" Charcoal wheels like I posted - those are the wheels I plan to put on my '08 when I need tires.

I agree, aftermarket is the way to go anyway.

Better selection with aftermarket, but I'm starting to prefer fitment of the OEM wheels even if they sometimes don't look the best. Others may not have problems with their wheel selection, but the aftermarkets I get usually aren't hub-centric and have weird offsets.
