Hey guys I'm experiencing an idling problem with my Ranger. Its an 05 with the 4.0, 5 speed. RPM's don't seem to drop like they are supposed too. For example when shifting from first to second....the pause while I push my clutch in the RPM's should drop, but they hover right around 3k. Also, when shifting from a gear to neutral...say if i'm coming to a red light...the RPM's stay around 3k also. That is until come to a complete stop or shift into another gear.

Any advice?

 

my truck does this too from time to time...id try cleaning the IAC first

 

x2! I had a lot of issues with my IAC on my contour. Its the most common issue with rpm related problems.
