High Idle / Low idle 2003 Ranger 3.0

I was trying to see if anyone has had an issue with idle speed. On my 2003 3.0 V-6. I have / am having problems with the idle running high when I push in the clutch to stop or change gears the idle will jump to about 3000 rpn and will stay there unless I let off on the clutch until I can get the rpms to about 1000 then it will settle down to about 500 rpm and struggle to keep running. It seems to be only in hotter weather but it is not limited to hot weather. I am making an assumption it has something to do with the vacuum but I am not sure. I do not have any check engine lights that come on during any of this either.

Its really starting to bother me here in Houston traffic. Any ideas?

My 2001 did this once. I pulled the IAC and cleaned it. Haven’t had a repeat since. Also, make sure the throttle cable is not sticking or binding

i have an automatic, when i stop at a light the rpms go up. it feels like the truck wants to take off. I just bought a scanner and i got a code P0402 It has to do withe the EGR system. So I am buying a a pressure feedback sensor and going to install that. It wont hurt to clean thae Iac valve I bought a new one of them to. I would go to an auto store to see if it would pull any codes. I know Advanced auto parts does it for free.
