No, When I drove my truck through the 14 inches of unplowed snow it kind of plowed but I kept going its all about keeping the momentum up and not stopping. I didnt damage anything either haha.

But how often do we get 14+ inches of snow? Not to often I had no worry of driving my truck in 6-8 inches of snow when we got that which was more often. Honestly if theres that much snow on the road you shouldnt be driving on it anyways.

Fx4BlackRanger 03-25-2008 11:48 PM

I never even came close to a wreck. And I'm 18 (Almost 19)

Had my license for almost 4 years. only one ticket too.

But as far as this dudes truck, step sides should be lowered to go with the skinny ass they have.

Lower FTMFW.

TrePaul86 03-26-2008 02:43 AM

Lift it... you'll be happier... No lowered trucks around here get the b*tches lol...

Like it says on one of the pages...

Lift it. Fat Chicks Can't Jump!

Mark98xlt 03-26-2008 09:51 AM

with him being 16 I love how you guys are telling him to lift it and put bigger tires, I know when I was 16 I could barely afford the gas milage my 3.0 had I couldnt imagine paying for gas with it being lifted on big tires.

Must be nice to have mommy and daddy pay for gas.

I never had the luxury when i was 16 if I was going to drive I was going to pay for the gas insurance and the vehicle.

Now a gift here and there for gas is different if your helping them move something with your truck or running errands for them but My parents simply stated if I was going to drive I'm going to pay for it and thats the best lesson they have taught me so far.

I have worked and earned for everything I own. Sure I needed their signature when i bought my first and second truck but I never asked or accepted a penny of their money. I borrowed 3k from them to put on top of my 5k I worked for when I bought my 98 when I was 16 and within a year I paid them back their money plus a couple hundred just to be nice for letting me borrow their money. On the new truck I needed their signature to buy it since I had no credit history with after making 2 truck payments I went to the bank and just paid off the loan because I had the money I had saved from working.

It just gives me that much more appreciation for my trucks knowing that i worked hard and payed for every bit of my trucks from gas insurance and the initial truck cost. I see kids get vehicles thrown at them and don't have to pay a dime and they could care less and not respect such a great gift they have had given to them. They have no respect for their vehicle and don't have the full responsibility's they should have accepted if they are going to drive. And those are usually the people who are in multiple accidents or tickets because they did not see how much it truely costs to drive.

that would be cool to watch, i don't even get snow so i don't have to worry about anything.

good for you i was also raised like that but your gonna have to get over it and realized everyone is different. the first truck i bought i let my dad test drive it a week later and he hit a tree. so maybe hes rich you never know

TrePaul86 03-26-2008 10:44 AM

Yah man... Don't hate on him if his parents are generous! I wish it were like that with me... Heck my parents only pay for my gas every once and awhile, I've paid for about 90% of the gas I've ever used lol.. I mean if his parents pay for it (and you were him) would you stop them?

Seroth 03-26-2008 10:50 AM

just wanna say im 18 and this is my first truck as well.

$paz's01 03-26-2008 11:01 AM

Hey dont get me wrong i have to pay for my truck every month and the only reason i get a tank a week is because my parents are sending me to a school 20 minutes away and its not my idea to go there and they both work and have to be at work before i get up ....so i have to drive to get to school. i mean im far from being spoiled. I am sitting on my computer at work typing this at break

Rev 03-26-2008 11:16 AM

Chad,

When it’s all said and done you'll have to live with it. Take your time, do some more research on the pros and cons and figure out what best suits your needs before jumping into anything. In the meantime enjoy your truck...

redranger8888 03-26-2008 11:24 AM

hey there im rob im 23yrs old im on my 3rd ranger/1st brand new truck i had a 91 2wd ranger i body lifted the kit was only 100bucks straight. i think at the most a body lift for your year truck with bumper brackets is like in the 190's or so maybe a lil less. but either way what ever you decide best of luck to ya bro theres a guy on here with a really nice burnt orange ranger about the same year as yours very nice looking thats lowerd but then again look at Roach nice black lifted stepside

or how much it's going to cost.

My uncle said he could do it for 100?

Honestly if YOU dont even know what you wanna do with your truck, you might consider just saving your money until YOU actually decide what you wanna do.

TACOETR 03-26-2008 12:40 PM

Alright bro as stated before research research research. Id say lift but i got the money for gas and what not. when i was in high school my buddy started a ranger lowering project and he finally finished after graduation it turned out nice. i only stated that to let you know weather you decide to go big or drop its gonna take time and alot of it bein as your in school to. as for lifting you can always find decent deals on the 2wd lift kits same with lowering. what ever you decide bro the sky's the limits just have fun and remember you have to live with it and drive it not us. Thanks for askin opinions though and welcome to the forum

RangerJustin 03-26-2008 01:34 PM

id say cruise around on here and see whta you like best...i like lowered stepsides...but lifted look good as well...

yea I think I've figured out that if I get real big ideas and he shoots em down then I come back with other smaller ideas, he's cool with it so . . . i always try the "go big or go home" theory first, haha

Downey 03-26-2008 02:59 PM

my dad shot me down on lifting my truck he said once you pay me off for it you can lift and do w.e you want with it but dont ask me for money when it breaks. i work my ass off to pay for my truck and i agree with who ever said that giving somone a truck is not the greatest idea theres a kid at school with a 2wd s-10 and he beats the hell out of it and he doesnt care because his mommy pays for his gas his mods and insurance and everything for his truck and even to fix it when he breaks it. he has no respect for anything. he would probly go around and hit everyones car in the parking lot if he could. i just think you should have to work for when you get. just my 2 cents i sell it and get a 4wd truck you live where theres snow and you can have just as much fun in 2wd as you can with a 2wd truck my truck would probly smoke most 2wds i love my 4x4.
