Im joinin the club!!

Well long story short,

My buddy wanted a 8.8 with 3.55 or 3.73 for his turbo truck and i wanted disc brakes for a 31 spline..SO we went on a hunt today found 2..both off of like 98 exploders a guy wanted one so we took the other..

8.8 with 3.27 31 spline.. nowww i had talked to bill before we took it out its a nice diff mint shape but im wondering about the 327..if it is or not but the tag says.. 3-27 8.8 blah blah blah..so im takin it as yes.. and is it open? im pretty sure and so is bill..

BUT I GOT THE DISC BRAKES stripping it tomorrow and there gonna be going on the truck soon..AND i have a new way todo the parking brakes and a few other tricks up my sleve..if anyone wants pics just let me know..

EDIT:

DID I TELL YOU I ONLY PAID 60$ hahahaha

sweet find......if you put that in your truck with the 3.27 gears, you CAN NOT use 4wd......both ends have to be the same gear ratio.....unless you are changing your front to 3.27's......but i can guarantee you that you will hate it.....

exactly^^^ i want nothing to do with 327... when i lift with the RCD im switchen up to 4.56 or 4.88 havent decided yet.. probably get amazing mileage with 327 lol but torque i like ..my buddy wants the 327 gears for his turbo truck..we were on the hunt for 355 but none in store and when we found this diff he was really happy.. gotta love exploders..and the fact we only paid 60$ is amazing..i tossed him 20$ for the difference in diffs because of the discs and i was happy..and i got everything..brackets,discs,calipers,brakelines,par king brake cables with some brackets..ill post pics today were going to strip the rear end and take the discs off it and maybe jsut maybe ill toss them on my truck..and all the parts like the discs looked brand new a lil rusty but not a damn thing wrong with them and the pads are even brand new haha..

Well the discs are now in a box in my spare room..spent a good hour taking everything apart and refering to bills write up.. i came by a few snags and different situations..because this is an open rear end theres just a pinion with a big ole pin in it and 4 gears and a spider bolt..spider bolt came out actually really easy and the c-clips even easier lol..then with a limited slip like mine and bills theres a diff set up in the diff..wasnt hard to take apart everything came off a lil easy only had to fix one backing plate..they dont care at the junkyard they just toss em on teh ground so one was bent up so i heated it with a propane torch and used a rubber mallet to put everything back into place..looks way better and normal..the gears and exles were in amazing shape! and the oil was clean and not 1 shaving was taken care of that i can see..so i have everything in my spare room and now i just have to wait till next weekend ( when im off work next ) to put them on my truck.. shouldnt take me long..also i dont know why but theres no reason to take off the parking brake pads to put the axles back in like bill said? i was a wee bit confused with that part..i guess we'll really see when it comes to dumpin them on my truck..im glad to have them and for 20$ jsut for the discs im doing damn good..and the discs are in amazing shape and the pads are brand new so i see no reason in changing them..
