Sams Club Photo CD

we recently went down to myrtle beach and i took a ton of pics with my slr, so when i was going to get them developed i thought why not get a photo cd so that i can put them online or edit them. well i got them back today and started to look at them. so i try to save them to my computer and it wont let me. so im looking around and see an emial thing and figure i can jsut email myself them. NO you have to become a member of there photo club or w/e so that the cd is actually useful. secondly the photo quality was terrible on the cd and being forced to use the Print Screen button and copy and paste it onto paint doesnt make them look much better.

so if your ever thinking of getting a photo CD from them dont or go elsewhere, or buy a scanner which i probably will do.

I was just thinking about the print screen button as i was reading it.

I've gotten one Kodak picture cd that you were able to drag and drop pictures off of.

Well save them at atleast .bmp or .png because you're going to lose alot of quality dropping them to .jpg.

D-I-G-I-T-I-A-L!

I played w/ a Kodak Photo CD once before I 'went digital' myself. Hugely unimpressed. Thankfully I still had the negatives as well. I presume you do to, no?! If so, worst case is you can get the shots re-printed locally for not too much, hopefully.

Seriously, if you want photos on CD or on the web, I think the best way to do it is to go digital from the begining w/ a decent digicam. They aren't that expensive anymore and it puts the entire process in your hands.

Joining a 'photo club' just to gain access to YOUR OWN SHOTS! That's pretty skeevy!

Or better yet, .tiff. TIFF is compressable where BMP is. Although PNG isn't a bad option either, I just think TIFF is more common. Beware though, my film scans usually ran in the ~32 MB range when saved as TIFF!
