is this insane or what?

i cranked my torsion bars about 2.5 inches. however, since i've installed the angled spare tire carrier, the truck sat about an inch+ too high in the front, due to the extra weight in the rear. i re -adjusted the torsion bars, thought i'd first see how high they could actually go before they "maxed out" the damned bars rose the truck up another 5 inches! the total space between my front tire and the inner fender(top) was 7+ inches! now, of course, i lowered it to where the front was even with the rear, but i was wondering, did ford make some rangers with longer tortion bolts than others? because i've heard some people saying they could only get 1-2 inches max crank with theirs. but to get the bars to go nearly 8 inches is unreal!

what kinda of drugs were you on while you were using the tape measure?

a 4wd 01+ ranger only has max of 8" of total travel. if the truck was in the middle of its travel before you started to crank you could only get 4" out of it before the shocks would be fully extended or the CVs in a bind

he said from the top of the tire..

"the total space between my front tire and the inner fender(top) was 7+ inches!"

therefore it lifted it, what about 4 inches?? assuming there is about 3 inches between tire and fender stock.

I maxed out my driver's side one on my old fx4. The pass side was only half cranked though.
