I inherited my dad's 98 ranger with only 105k on it and just finished installing new upper control arms and lower ball joints because the rubber boots were in bad shape. The boots on the tie rods look good and just wanted to know how many miles can one expect to get out of the inner and outer tie rods. Just did not want to put any more money into it if not necessary. I was just thinking if I can get another 50 or 100k out of them I would not replace them.

 

Can't say every oil change just shake down the front suspension for play. Other then that it's impossible to say the life span.
