insurance result...decisions...

so as some of you may know, my mazda was totalled about a month ago. Well after alot of waiting i finally got my result.

I get 3700bucks......and i get to keep the mazda! dont know how that worked out.....but it did

so now its decision time and i need help figuring out what to do with it!!

right now the mazda needs part of a cab, door, bed and rear axle.

i already have a rear axle and a bed soon..doors are easy to get and there might be a possibility of me getting that part of the cab i need too off my friends parts ranger. so fixing it isnt too much of an issue for me.

what im trying to figure out is.......what do i do with it?

Just fix it and paint it?
Bag it?
Prerunner?

i feel like just fixing it would be fine and be smart with the money and save it for other stuff...but on the other hand my urge to mod things is coming around...

ideas?

ya thats what im starting to think......i think i just need more convincing though hah

i mean with the money i could probably just put down like 1000-1500 which would mainly be for paint and my truck would be back on its feet again and id have the rest of that money to save and put away......and also finish up my ranger the right way too lol but its a big toss up right now

fix it how it was, then drop in a 4.6 or a 5.0l, it'll be way sick. And make sure to keep the wheels the same

Keep it the way it is. It was one of the best looking newer mazda's. Plus keeping it low will give you something with decent MPG's unlike your trail ****...it gets around, but it ain't cheap lol.

I'd probably either try and fix it as cheaply as possible and then sell it or just part it out. Since your Ranger drives and everything now just daily that and either use the money to buy upgrades for it or spend it on other stuff you need.

Take the $3700 and put it towards a new vehicle. With the price of new vehicles now, might as well get one. Let the poor truck rest in peace.

Tempting yes, but I bet its more cost effective to repair your truck. If anything get a new bed and fix the corner and just throw it in primer for now.

Randy.... I'd fix it and keep some change. Leave it primed or painted whatever color the parts are or whatever. Then down the road, have fresh sprayed on. Who knows...might wanna paint it a different colour. Why waste the $$ getting it to look right only to have to respray it anyway. Of course, that's only if you don't like the colour of the truck....which I happen to like it.

Don't prerunner it...there goes the whole reason for the truck.....econoDD.

I know a cat who may be saying goodbye to his wheels that happen to be exactly like the ones on your maz....

Yeah....what you got....IS A BLESSING!!! Very shocked you got that much AND kept the truck!!! Take advantage of it!! If it was just the money and not hte truck, I'd be saying something different...but you got lucky and should be wise about it.
