It's ABOUT TIME! The Black Beast is about to wake up!
Well I talked to the guys at C. Mayo Sheet Metal today. After searching for someone with the proper equipment to produce the motor mounts drawn by Brian B., I finally found C. Mayo who has a waterjet.
It seems the RH mount has a very small offset, which by the drawing is achieved by an s-bend. Nobody I spoke with was able to make such a small bend with the 8mm metal I'm getting this made out of! I'll have to improvise with two separate sheets of metal welded together and gusseted in the specified locations.
NOW GET THIS! The guy that runs the waterjet wants me to convert all of the metric measurements over to inch (standard) before he will do them! What ever happened to metric being used for these tight tolerance sort of jobs?
ANYWAY, the fact is this; My motor mounts will finally be in production tomorrow, and once I get them back and get a surface protectant on it, I'll have the motor mounted and can start the final wiring/programming!
Brian or anyone else with the 2wd V8 swap, how did you manufacture the RH mount?
