Junk yard story time...

So I went to the junk yard to find two round lights that I can mount on my bumper and also I went to find a new horn to replace my horribly high pitched and queer sounding one.
I did happen to find a perfect sounding horn on an old F150 yet I was skeptical about the connection fitting so I decided against buying it.
Then I found two jeep wranglers ( a 99 and an 03) that both had front damage to the left and to the right respectively. A round light on the 99 Wrangler was fine and the round light on the 03 was fine. So I disconnected both and started to take them off. Before I finished removing the first I thought I would go and ask the lady in the front office if it was ok to remove and purchase them. She told me the cars in that row where I found the two Jeeps were being sold as Salvage Titles. I almost cried I was so dissapointed. I thought whats wrong with removing two lights from a Wrangler that didn't even effect the stock headlights on them. I decided not to fight her and come back another day to ask the legit owner about them. I have to wait a couple more days to get back as I am at my cabin now.
Two questions out of this:
1. Will a 96 F150 horn work in my 04 Ranger?
2. Do you personally think it is that big of a deal to not remove two lights from different Jeeps?

P.S. I am sorry but I had to vent on here.

Is the F150 also a 12volt like your 04 Ranger?

Hell no. Are you going to later buy the whole jeep down the road? Take what you can, better you not the next guy.

Yes the F150 is a 96 but I am a little iffy about the same connections. I suppose I can always take mine out and compare the connections.
Also, thanks, I will talk to the owner on monday and hopefully have the lights so I can mount them on chrome bumper.

If it were me, I never go up to the office..I always pull and walk up and haggle and pay. They don't know where I found them. Plus....all yards I've been to, generally have a specific location for the stolen/salvage/rebuilders and it's clearly marked.

^^^I do the same. Three years ago, I pulled some guage cluster faces from a chrysler cirrus.... I opened up the whole cluster and unscrewed everything.

Once I got to the office to pay, the guy says, "Uh, we sell the WHOLE unit as is for $150!"

There was no way in HELL I was paying that much for the whole assembly, so I said, "Um, really? Ok. I won't take these then."

He quickly told me that he can do it "This time" for $40 for the faces I took.

THis is funny cause i just went through the same situation. I went to this junkyard last week noticed they had a red 4x4 offroad ranger with a front skid plate on it I went to go ask a guy in the yard if I could take the skid plate, he said the truck was sold, so a week later i come back, it was still there so i decided the heck with it and i took the skid off and got it. the guy at the front desk thought it was funny that i got it from that truck cause he said the truck was sold like a month ago and people keep taking things off the truck.
