98 Ranger + Scangauge II

Anyone have this combination? My best friend bought me one with a Blend Mount and I see that it's not 100% compatible with the Speed and MPG but everything else seems to work. Should I keep it for the more vital stuff?

I've read that the 98 year's spedo does not go through the computer like later models.

I also have a OBDII scanner that will read live data. I do not get any speed or fuel consumption information like I do with my wife's Outlander.
