Just my luck!

I've been waiting for my exhaust to start to go so I could replace it with a nice cat back system. Well instead of slowly failing so I could order the exhaust and still drive the truck the whole thing just decided to fall off. So I had to spend the money on a normal exhaust since I couldn't wait 4 days for the new exhaust. I'm really ticked at the moment. $600 and I don't have what I want. The wife specifically stated when the original exhaust went I can get the cat-back.

On the the plus side my exhaust was original from 97 and the new one has a lifetime warranty.

But it's not cat-back!!

Why can't you wait four days and drive it as-is?

If you spent $600 for a stock exhaust you got the worst deal in all of history.

x2 on what Trigger said.

My exhaust now ends directly after the cats and it way too loud. Sounds like a coffee can exhaust.

That doesnt warrant spending $600 on an exhaust set up to fix that problem.

You could of had a $20 piece of pipe welded inplace and used that for the time being.

No way I'd spend 600 like that. Put up with it for a few days and just think of the great reward.

Holy cr@p!
I'd cut off my custom dual exhaust for $600.

When my old exhaust rusted through, I drove around with nothing behind the catalytic converter for a couple of months.
It sounded like a swarm of bees on crack, but it got me around.

damn you shoulda just hit up a local exhaust shop, buy a muffler there, and have them do some custom piping for ya. almost always ends up cheaper then buying an overpriced catback.

That sucks. I had my local muffler shop fabricate a side exhaust kit on my Mustang for less than $400 with stainless tips. As for my Ranger, I went to Autozone and bought a $20 muffler and some clamps after the old duals fell off, until I have time to fab up a custom setup myself.

I couldn't drive around without any exhaust for the weekend. I had to get to work and i lug my kids around in it. The final total was $510 for the lifetime warranty. None of the local shops could squeeze me i so i had to go to a chain. Yeah, it was a little bit pricier and I couldn't get what i wanted, but it's gaurenteed for life and it got done when I wanted it done.

Wow.

You got utterly pwned on that. No way in hell would I hand over $600 to fix something with stock parts when I was going to replace it with something else.

Sounds like you were in too much of a rush and not thinking right.

WTF were you thinking.. You could have just went and picked up a shi y muffler and bolted it one for 30 bucks. That is insane that you did that. I dont even bill gates would have spent 600 bucks on a stock muffler for 3 days
