K&N quality

Well im a little pissed about what I seen when I cleaned my filter today. I love having the k&n but this is just wrong. I'm gonna contact the company and send them this pic and hopefully they will send me a new one. They do say it's a lifetime filter right? Not this one.

That's is a bummer.. I would be calling k&n and make sure they sent out a new one.. Not sure aboutthe lifetime warranty but they should stand behind their product.

It should be covered... I think it's a million mile warranty.

I always used the k&n cleaner and oil. I think the oil has something to do with why it came apart. That spot is very gummy. After cleaned and sprayed numerous times I think the filter oil traveled to that area and built up causing the rubber to deteriorate.

thats the first one i've ever seen do that. pretty odd.

i always use the cleaner and oil on all of mine(4 quads 2 trucks and a car) and never had that issue.

im sure they'll be happy to replace it though! lets face it there's always the chance even with a quality product that things go wrong. that's why theres a warranty!

After all, they will replace it but I need my receipt but I can't find it so I repaired it with silicone. Looks like this will work. Just need to wait for it to dry but it looks like it will be fine.

Was gonna say good luck. Been fighting them for 2 years now on one of mine that is afu. It's not the first one I've owned ( think its #4 through the years and different rides) Its one of the round style thats falling apart at the pleats. Sent photos, serial number, and a photo of the reciept via email to customer support and the battle began, after 2 months of back and forth emails, I'm sick of the whole ordeal and have honestly given up on them. AEM is a hell of a lot better... Screw K&N.... Waste of money...

a clean paper filter will flow more air than your engine will even use. when mine get dirty i just replace it, cant argue when napa sells them for $11

And also filter better. For me, its just easier to just swap it for a new paper filter than spend the time cleaning it.
