Icon6 Let the "key-turn countdown" begin!

Sorry to post such a grandiose topic, but I'm just too excited NOT to share this.

Two things made my day, today. First of all, I got an awesome job opportunity presented that includes benefits better than any I've ever had, and a salary pay that exceeds any in the past.
Secondly, I stopped by the local Metal Fab shop for the 3rd time this week and came to an agreement on the motor mounts. They'll be ready Monday afternoon!

When you put these two things together, you may just end up with a really nice V8 Ranger!

So in celebration, I've already pulled the motor back out, bolted the transmission up to it, and sorted out all of the vacuum hoses and brackets.

I'll post some pictures in a little bit...

I was worried about not meeting the "deadline" I set when I created my avatar, but it's become a reality, now!

Because of this new job, I'll be able to afford some more exciting things to my truck, along with completing the motor swap project! My wife has given me an "allowance" to spend in the future once the new job balances things out. This will allow me to get some jewels to adorn the 302.

Next few days:
Ford Racing Performance Parts Explorer 5.0 headers from Bob (rwenzing)
3-core cross-flow aluminum radiator
New A/C Condenser

Sometime in the future:
KMC XD Series Monster 778 black wheels with 27" tires at a 9" or 10" thickness
Eaton supercharger
Carbon fiber cowl hood from local motorsports company

Of course I must apply the "first things first" law and get the truck rolling the way I want before I make any significant changes. It's hard not to be like a little boy at Christmas time when the wife gives the OK to spend money on the truck again!
