Lookin to get back into the ranger scene??

Hey Guys, I', a former ranger owner, and used to use this site alot. I recently totoaled my silverado due to a stupid teenage female driver who blew through a stop sign. Ruined my truck, and ruined my day, and made me miss my first class of college. Anyways i'm looking at rangers. These is an 02 FX4 4x4 4.0 5speed. original owner, but with 157k. Do you guys think this is too many miles? I'm going to look at it soon.

Welcome back. How well was the truck maintained? Does it have bad timing chain rattle? Well maintained and in good shape, 157K is just getting broke in.

The ironic thing is that the girl that didnt stop at the stop sign was driving a ranger. I know it has all new balljoints upper+lower. Basically what i'm looking for is something cheap, to get me around to school, and work. And to offroad a bit when i get the chance to. The guys not asking a crazy amount of $ for the truck either. Hopefully i'll check it out soon, and let you guys know how it goes. thanks for the replies

Why are you waiting for HER insurance to pay out on your totalled truck?

Because SHE totaled it, therefore HER insurance is liable.

I'd look at something newer than 04. The 01-03 4.0 engines had timing chain rattle issues. Also I would stay away from the manual Rangers.
