i wanna sell the camper shell i have on my truck right now cuz i just dont like it. but i dont kno how much i can get for it... plus i dont really kno any details about it since it came on the truck. all i kno is that it fits my truck(duh), it has a light in it, and it has sliding windows on the sides... anyone kno about how much i should try to get for it? oh yea and its white. lol

 

a brand would help to with pictures.

used caps are hard to get rid of for a good price you usually end up basically giving them away for close to nothing.

well the brand is Raven. and i never could figure out how to post pics on here. its in pretty good condition too... the only thing is, i gotta pay my dad back at least $500 for it cuz he bought the truck for over blue book cuz of the shell. but i dont think i can get $500 for it and anything i dont get comes outta my pocket.

 

Highly doubt you will get $500 for it. I see shelss on craigslist for around 300 on a fairly consistent basis...

Raven is a good, high quality cap. if it has little wear and tear, i'd start at $550 then see what happens. if it doesn't sell for that, go lower. but no lower than $300.
because brand new, Raven caps for rangers are about $1,100.

 

it has basically no wear or tear... i've never even really used my truck bed since i've had it cuz its a pain in the @$$. hence, im sellin the shell. haha

 

For sure start high though, post it up on craigslist and start at 600 if ya want and then people will usually send back with an offer

 

200-300 bucks and what sucks is...most people have them for sale for less than that, so the price is set by others and you are left with pennies compared to what you bought it for/what the shell is actually worth. I have three shells...I bought a used one and then bought a new leer shell for my 04 and I also have one for my 93 which is a long bed. I have been trying to sell the used one I bought for a $100 with no takers...I do get a ton of calls/emails from people asking me if it will fit this or fit that...I tell them "How in the fock do I know what it will fit, I said it will fit a Ranger and that it came off a Ranger, I'm not here to figure this $hit out for you." I finally just took the thing off craigslist( and yes, I even had the dimensions posted and still got asked)...got tired of dealing with all the stupid questions. So, be prepared!!

 

Post on CL $350 obo and see what happens. If its some off color it may be harder to get rid of.

No way man camper shells are great I use mine to camp in all the time plus your stuff is secure and not just laying in the bed. Think about what your doing man. Maybe just take it off for a few months and then maybe see how you feel

well i had a ranger b4 with no shell... and i loved it. now that i have a shell all it is, is a nuisance. i've had it for a long time and i've only camped in it once. plus i dont like how it looks on the truck. haha but yea my mom said the same thing ur saying.

I just looked at the pics on the craigslist ad and I'm afraid you will have a hard time selling that style for any price. The ones with that rise above the cab like yours are IMO ugly and undesirable. No offense, just being honest. I got my Century in perfect condition for $125, but its the regular style that is countoured with the top of the cab.

 

Is that your shell? I'd keep it if I were you.

 

Keep it man, get a light bar and it will look just fine

I'm with you, I'd never get rid of mine. I think if you got rid of it later you will be kicking yourself wondering why you got rid if it.

there is ne near me for sale. $100. it's faded grey/white and the back window is metal (not painted black, i think it's older). the front window is the same. metal colour, not black or nice. i'd get it but 1. i have no where to store it, and C. it's not a nice colour that goes with my blue. i asked the owner's wife and she says it's too big for their truck (older dakota crew with 5' bed).

 

I only have one question, how do you go from 1. to C.?
