Advice on my new 94 ranger 4x4
Hello, i just purchases a ford ranger on ebay today and went to look at it.
I had a 92 x-cab 4.0 4x4 a couple years ago with 130,000 miles on it before it got totaled by a drunk driver.
This one is a 94 x-cab 3.0 4x4 v-6 5-speed with 160,000 miles on it.
I won it for $1930 on ebay.....
There is a problem with the steering and the brakes may need to be replaced. The low retail NADA book value has it at $3800.00
When you are driving and let your hands off the wheel, the truck turns to the left along with steering wheel very sdharp and fast
Going to take it to family mechanic to have it checked out. I know the 4.0 were good motors back then, how were the 3.0?
Anyone know off hand what could possibly be the problem?
This truck will be a 2nd vehicle and will be driven mostly in the winter while my 2k honda civic is staying salt free in the garage then.
what are some cheap things i can do myself when i recieve truck?
i am guessing oil change, plugs, etc.
any advice on steering issue or anything is greatly appreciated.
here is the listing..........

thanks for the response.
while the steering wheel was being turned back and forth, you could hear something down near the wheel drum clicking. i am guessing maybe tie-rod ends because both front wheels did it, but it would putdirectly to left - SHARP left.
i am not really interested in doing style mods like taillights and flaps. i am interested in basically just doing tune-up things to it.
thanks again.

the clicking sound you hear might be the hubs... getting an alignment will help alot, some people will tell you that the TTB is never in proper alignment, but ya said your takin it to the mechanic to have it looked at so I wouldn't worry
nice truck and looks like you got a good deal on it!
