i fell into an 8 foot hole in my truck before....

turned the frontbumper to crap and f'd up the right front tire...but after a tow truck pulled me out, ol' MazdaSpeed cranked right up and has been cool

i had a old ranger about a 95 jumped a biiiig hill everyone calls thrill hill because your only supposed to go 15mph over it... and if u go 20mph you will get air... well my stupid self went over it at about 80mph...got like 6 ft of air seemed like a movie...came down on the other side perect except for one thing... i hit the only pot hole in the road... front tire dipped makin my truck turn about 90 degrees than tipping over flipping about 3 times before running into a ditch..good thing rangers are tuff... didnt get a ticket only thing that happened was a broken finger! lol well thats it...

That is really suprising. I know of an Aerostar that got a bunch of river water in it...it wasn't submerged or anything, but the inside got really wet. It never did smell great after that.

My friend was trying to turn around on a narrow road the other day in his 2WD Ranger and it ended up stuck in a ditch and sliding dangerously close to some rocks. He got it pulled out with no damage though. He jumped the truck once before going too fast on a trail and shattered the radiator air deflector thing into peices. Other than that the truck was mostly undamaged.

I have never gotten mine stuck in a ditch. There was one time when I came close to rolling it though. I was screwing around on a really rough dirt road after it had rained. There was a big puddle and I didn't know how deep it was, but I hit it anyway. The truck went way down then came to the edge of the hole and kind of shot out. It's hard to explain. I wasn't prepared and it kind of went way across the road and all kinds of crazy ****. I was stupid and should not have done it. I am lucky I didn't roll it. Someone else rolled an Explorer on that road.

Another close call was when I trusted someone else to scout the trail (this is the same trail my friend jumped his Ranger on). I told him to run down to the end and see what it looked like. He said it was passable, so I went down it. He had not gone far enough down to see a huge mud hole though. By the time I saw it I could not stop and I had to hit it. The truck immediately slowed and turned 90 degrees. I started cussing at the guy and since I was pissed I hit the gas. Suprisingly, that got the truck out of the hole. It gripped on to something and pulled out of the hole. It took a long time to get all of the chunks of mud off of it.

Another time wasn't a close call...I did get stuck pretty bad. There is a really rough trail that leads into a swamp. In a moment of stupidity, I decided to tackle it. I went down and the truck made it through some suprisingly large holes with little difficulty. Then I got to the part that was pretty much a swamp. I hit it going way too slow and went maybe 10 feet before the truck got stuck. No amount of digging would get the truck out and the only other trucks around were also 2WD and not capable of getting me out. I had no choice but to call a tow truck. The guy showed up in an F-550 and studied the situation for a little bit. He then called another F-550 because he knew he would get stuck getting me out. He went down the hill that goes into the swampy area and hooked up to my truck and got it out of the hole. He then hitched his truck to the F-550 at the top of the hill and that F-550 pulled the other one and my truck up the hill. Getting out of the trail was quite an adventure and a fair amount of winching was involved.

I have done some stupid **** with my truck, but in the process I have learned some things. Mainly that you should ALWAYS walk the trail yourself and that Eagle GTIIs suck in mud.

I slid off the highway doing 50, snapped a roadside pole in half, slid across 60 feet of grass, and into a highway ditch. Does that count? Missed the culvert by about 10 feet. Otherwise, I'd probably not be typing this.

i was drive 45 on a country road behind my house and hit a patch of black ice spun around three times before regaining control and then slid down a 6 foot ditch and was a straight drop and i got lucky because a farmer that was plowing his drive way saw it and said he pull me out after he finished his drive way took over an hour to pull me out because i was stuck in two feet of snow and not a really damage a scratch here and there.

I slid into a ditch near my house a couple winters ago. Actually, first winter I had this truck. There was just a light dusting of snow when I left work that night. Closer to home though, it was thicker. I was getting a little irritated at all the pansies that freaked out over less than an inch of snow. That was probably my first mistake. I waited through 3 lights for the ONE car in front of me to get enough balls to make a left turn. He/she wouldn't even enter the intersection. Finally when all was clear, they started turning. I passed on the right. I drove a block down the road, to my turn. Still pissed off. There were cars coming aways down the road. I didn't want to wait even longer. I slowed down, honestly was not going fast at all. Started into the turn, started sliding, then inexperience caused me to make my second mistake. Wanting to slow down, I applied the brakes. All hope was lost for making the turn and I slid into the ditch at very low speed. Enough for my left rear tire to come off the road. Damnit. I get out and have a look... not a scratch. But my right front tire is in the ditch.... and I didn't want to crawl into the ditch to lock the hub. So I called my b/f, and him and his dad came in his dad's 01 Dodge 3500 CTD 4X4 and pulled me out. I got in sh** for not having my hubs locked. I still get razzed about going in the ditch (mainly by my b/f). He even bought me a little temperature gauge... so when it's below freezing I'll "take it easy and not end up in the ditch".

well, since I think i'm still the only Bronco II guy on here, I might as well chime in my humiliating experiance...

about 2 weeks ago, I finished putting in a new axle-joint and stub shaft on the driver's side (grenaded the old one and took the shaft with it) and I decided to throw my 31" MTR's on, to see if they fit...suprise suprise, they fit, and only rub a tiny bit...

so, the next day, I'm out driving, I decided to go down my local "trail", which is actually a dead end unmainted dirt road, which can be fun after some rain...

anyway, me and buddy with his stock Jeep XJ (Cherokee) decided to go the night before, to try the MTR's out, and sure enough, I made it halfway back in 2wd, while he needed 4by (damn crappy goodyear AT/S's), so, not tempting fate, we left...

anyway, back on story, the next day, I'm decide to go back down....I lock the hubs, and start driving in....I get to the middle part, where there is a place to turn around between the first rutted section, and the second, harder part, which has deeper ruts and a huge hole on one side...

at this point, I'd just like to point out, that when it's dry in the summer, I could take my stock 2wd ranger all the way to the back....however, as I learned, it's harder in the winter....

so, I decide not to turn around at the middle part, and go a bit farther....mistake #1...as I'm crawling in 4LO (I like to go slow, and pick a good line, rather than romp though) I come to where some of the deeper ruts are, and as I'm crawling though, the ice in the rut cracks, and the drivers-side front tire breaks though the ice....no big deal I think, it's only about hub deep...so, I reverse a bit, then go ahead, and the front tire climbs out of the hole...as I'm crawling forward, I look, see the back tire about to go into the hole, and get ready to give it some to get through, when the front tire breaks through again, causing the rear tire to slide into the first hole...I panic, gas it, throw mud and water everywhere, but it's no good, now the truck is sitting on the frame, front and rear diffs, and tranny x-member...

to make a long story short, I ended up being stuck for like 3 hours, go no responce on my CB, had no jack, nothing....and had to wait for my buddy to get off work and come pull me out with his stock XJ....it sucked....

so, I despite knowing better, I continue to break rule #1....even worse, me and my buddy are members of a local jeep club/message board, and he posted it up there....bastard...so now, i'm going to a mud run on the 25th to show them how a ford really works without being hampered by snow...

also, I now carry a 2 ton hand winch/cable puller/come-a-long I bought about 5 days ago, as well as I'm getting a hi-lift soon (finally)

then all I need is a winch, bumpers, lockers, etc.....

Just the other night my buddy was having a party over at his place, invited me to come up after work with some beers... sent me atext to park at the house below his; so im thinking, cool.. we just got 3 and a half feet of snow here, at least I have somewhere to park off the road! Well, turns out when I get there, it looked as if the neighbors hadnt been there all winter; and I 'knew' where the driveway ws.. figured I woudl back in seeing as how it woudl be easier to turn soon as I get out.. I easily cross the 3 foot berm where the snowplow laid his line out and get into the driveway; get about 4 feet back, decide its good enoigh, and shut the engine off.. soon as I hop out I feel the truck sink about 4 inches; it broke through a small ice layer into the slick **** down below about 3 feet under.. so I was forced to pop out a shovel and get a couple guys to rock me back and forth before I coudl get the truck out.. Fantastic stuff there :-D First time I ever needed a hand getting unstuck in this truck since my lift.. lousy snow!!

ahaha i got stuck in a ditch last night. I tryied to go up some snowy road, there was a hill at the beginning that goes through the woods, and I was like no way am I gonna make it up this it was barely plowed, so i back down and turn around and sure enough i was too far to one side of the ditch and my front wheel sunk in it in about 2 feet of snow and my whole truck was flexed out on one side. Had to have like 4 people get in the bed on one side and i got out no problem. ditchs such

I pulled a U-Turn into a ditch, got the right front TOTALLY submerged into think nasty mud. (I was on the street that runs parallel to our lake in my community). Good thing my neighbor in his Lawn Maintenence F-350 drove by....he pulled me out :)

This was, hm, about 2 summers ago? Had my 11yr old (was 9 at the time) brother with me.....little smartass wouldn't stop laughing at me.

A few years ago, when I bought my RX7, I had it dropped off at my girlfriend's place so I could work on it in her dad's shop. I forget why, but it was late at night, like 11pm and me and my girlfriend decided to go for a little joyride. I guess I should mention the car was not yet registered, and it was also the middle of January, rather windy,snowy and COLD AS HELL. Why we went out, I don't know.

So I fire up the RX7...should also mention we live out in the country, so we're going to be roaming around snowy, icy backroads in the middle of nowhere.

Since I just got the car, it was still equipped with some sport tires. We get about 15 mins from the house, driving cautiously, when we approach an S-bend, which I think would just be perfect to drift through. Since there were snowbanks on either side, I figured I'd be safe if I tapped one incase I lost control.

No dice. Sideways,into,up and over the snowbank and driver's side front corner nose first into the ditch. Whole driver's side of the car was stuffed in the snow and the car was almost laying on it's side. Brilliant. Ditched my car that isnt registered or insured, and it's cold as hell out. We manage to climb out the passenger side window and up the snow bank back onto the road. Not to mention neither of us had cell phones.

My girl is freaking out and I'm all pissed off. We walked for what seemed an eternity to find a house with someone home or awake. It was a fierce wind and like -25C. We finally found a house and called my girlfriend's dad. He came and pulled the car out of the ditch with his tractor...after waiting almost an hour for him to show up. I got lucky I didn't damage anything more than the driver's side fender and headlight.

That was probably one of the stupidest things I've done behind the wheel.

i was out wheelin one day, and i was doing a little v-run. had to shy up to one side of the V to avoid an obsticle, and the ground was only a foot or so from my mirror.

i thought it was going over for sure.

the rear pass side tire was up in the air about half a foot.
