hi my name is floyd and i have been reading posts on this forum for a long time now and i finally got my truck so now it is time to ask questions. its an 03 4.0 extended cab standard with 4x4 and has 75xxx on it. i would like to replace the bumpers because they are a little dented and i would like something that wont fall of when i hit hard. i am looking for an arb type that they have for heeps and yota's and what not. is there a company that makes any thing like that. would i be able to buy a bumper for a jeep or yota and adapt it to my truck fairly easily?i am looking for front and rear bumpers by the way.

also i would like to know how tough the westin bull bars are. they look really good but dont seem like they would take any beating whatsoever. i would also like to know any good aftermarket sites or shops for the ranger. i know there is a guy on the site that owns a shop and i have searched the forums buy i havent been able to re-find that guys site.

one more question is regarding wheels and tires. i do not like chrome so i will be ditching my stock rims and meats. i would like to know what offset i should go with if i want my tires to stick out a bit from the wells. i am looking to put one of the thirty size tires but they will be 12.50 wide and i will be puttin them on 15x8 or 15x9 inch rims. so any help in any of these subjects would be apreciated. thank you

 

no bumpers for your year. you have to go custom. there are some that float around every now and then, but believe me I have tried to track them down to a reputable sales website or location and can't. your best bet is a custom fabbed bumper.

Westin Bull Bars are the equivalent to lining the front of your truck with Krispy Kreme doughnuts. They are purely for cosmetics. Don't believe me, look at all the posts about "hot to fix a dented or bent Bull bar". Waste of time IMHO

stick with the stock offset, or close to it. Just get wider rims and tires. You don't them to stick too far out and look like a Roller Skate.

 

 

ok thanks man, i think i will go i little more offset than stock so the tires dont rub on the actuall wheel well of the inside bed. thanks for the info on bumpers as well i might look into buying an arb or something off ebay then cuttin it to fit. what are some good sites for parts and accessories for my truck

 

I hear the Waag bar, the 'special one' made for the forums can take a little beating, such as puching another vehical... i think that kid from texas that rolled his ranger on the beach mentioned that in the past. However finding one of them waag bars, is impossible.
