Well with the gas prices rising and not looking to go down any time soon. I'm stopping all modding to my truck and come spring time-early summer i'll be looking to trade it in on a focus. I'm spending well around 200-250 a month in gas. I've even had to pick up a second job just to be able to afford it. I dont wana get rid of my truck :( , but the gas is just a big issue and I could save so much money getting a focus. So thats what my plan is.

For anyone interesting i'll list off the kind of focus I will be going for(will more then likely have to order it) i'm looking into a 05 zx3 ses. It'll have all the power options plus tilt and cruise with the tach. 5spd with the 2.0 with leather seats with the heated seat and side view mirror optiong. I'll probably get it in either sonic blue or black or silver not sure yet and I have time to decide. If things go well at this second job i'm getting I could possibly move into management and that also means i'll have more money for mods on it. Which I have some ideas on what i'd do. Anyway I just wanted to pass along the news.

You might want to address why you are spending that much in gas each month. Sounds very excessive to me. If you can move someplace that is closer to your school/work, then you can probably cut that gas bill in half.

Sounds like a good idea, but if you are tight on cash, I would consider not getting such a loaded Focus. If you are on a budget, think of needs over wants. Ditching the power package and leather could take a lot off the price.

You change cars more often than I change my freakin' underwear. Maybe if you'd buy one vehicle and stick with it you'd be able to afford gas and mods.

I'd have to agree. Something's seems missing for info. Doesn't pay well?

Isn't there a better paying PT/FT job you can find AND still go to school?

Just wondering...

I sure hope you change your underwear more often then I change cars. I also dont change cars to just change cars and I DONT want to get rid of my truck. Its also not my fault that gas is pushing $2 a gallon here and it cost 32+ to fill up every time. If Mr. president would get off his *** and do something about the gas this wouldn't be as much of a problem, but we all know he wont lol.

I've also tried finding other jobs and it isn't working out so i'm having to work with what i've got.

You never cease to amaze me. My Edge gets 20mpg. A focus will get, what, 24mpg on a good day? Exactly how much money do you think thats going to save you vs. all the money you WASTE by trading in a vehicle you still owe on for a new car?

Dude, serious, you need to LEASE a car if you're going to be this indecisive. It makes me ill.

Find a used Focus or other small car. You can find one for $6000. I know new cars are nice...but do you NEED one. Buy a car that someone has already taken a hit on if money is tight.

Dude im not indecisive. The focus gets 26 in city and right now im lucky if i get in the high 16's in the city and im also lucky if I get 18 on the highway and I dont drive my truck hard either. This also isn't happening for quite some time so chill out dude. This wont be happening till closer to next summer when I have some extra money saved to put down on it and i've paid a good bit of the truck off. I've already tried to refinance to make things easier, but that didn't work. I've tried everything possible even trying to find another job that didn't work. Again I will state this just for you since you can't seem to understandI DONT WANT TO GET RID OF MY TRUCK however the gas is making me broke and my parents are also wanting me in something cheaper. Which by the time I got to get the focus I will end up saving about 100+ a month in my payment. So untill you understand my situation im in i'd appreciate it if you would not put any negitive comments in here, thanks.

Oh, I see, your parents pay for your truck, thats why the gas costs are your only concern.

No I pay for everything. I always have. I've been working since I was 15 paying for everything i've got. The only things my parents have paid for is the roof over my head and the food I eat and I even help pay for the food they get. Hell for 2 freaking years of my life I GAVE my parents all of my money I worked for because they were struggling to survive and I had to drop out of school to help them. So watch your comments dude. I'm starting to get sick of them. If you have nothing positive to say THEN DONT SAY IT AT ALL.

Get an old bike. You can ride around on it and get 50mpg or more and then sell if for what you paid for it down the road.

If you pay for everything then why is the payment being high a concern of your parents? None of this has ever added up. At the very least you're ridiculously financially irresponsible.

Yeah I messed up when financing my truck and i'm trying to slowly fix it. My parents want me in something cheaper so i'm not stressing out about it so much. However just because I messed that up does not justify your comments you have made. It's obvious you are not over that last incident we had which I thought was squashed. So if all you feel you can say is negitive stuff towards me then I would appreciate it if you would not respond to any of my posts and not worry about how I go about my life. My life hasn't been easy and I have had to deal with a lot of stuff which made my thoughts not as clear as they should of been. I am now trying to correct the things i've done wrong and your comments you have been making are not helping. Now if you want to help and give me positive comments then thats cool, but otherwise if all you want to say is negitive stuff then take it else where because its not wanted.

Actually, I firmly believe that if we had a different president the gas prices would be higher still. We pay far far less than we should for gas in this country. Look at Europe and the rest of the developed world where gas is taxed much more (as it should be). Instead we pay next to nothing for gas and will get the bill in the form of environmental issues in the future..

..But then that's for another thread, isn't it?!
