As was at the local Pull-A-Part yesterday and I was looking at a 1996 Town Car. I noticed the Multifunction Switch Arm and Shift Lever are chrome......they also just look nicer. Has anyone attempted this mod on the Rangers? I'm sure the shift lever can be installed no problem, but after consulting ALLDATA the connectors for the multifunction switch are different. The crazy shapped connector has like an extra pin so the shape is slightly different (pins are different too) (but a 1994 looks the same as the Ranger), the tine square connector is the exact same just different pinouts. I was thinking if you got the connector harnesses you can just wire them into your steering column wiring. If no one else has done this I'll try to do a write up since I have an extra steering column harness to mess with.
